Garibaldi Thohir, Founder, PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha, Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 Finalists. Born to a business-oriented family, Garibaldi Thohir acknowledges that his family and his educational background have significantly influenced his entrepreneurial spirit. His first business experience occurred when he formed a holding company for his family’s businesses.

At his initiative, he successfully restructured and downsized his father’s twenty five companies to become ten focused and profitable businesses.

As part of his strategy to expand the family’s Honda motorcycle dealership business, Garibaldi started his own main business in 1997 by acquiring a multi-finance company later known as PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha (PT WOM). PT WOM is engaged in credit financing of Honda motorcycles, and is now one of the largest consumer financing companies in Indonesia.
 

An attest to his determination and entrepreneurial spirit, was the Company’s ability to survive during the monetary crises. It was the toughest challenge that Garibaldi and PT WOM had faced. Through maintenance of good business relationships and established networking, Garibaldi managed to obtain continuous support from bankers, suppliers, customers and staff.
